Choose Again

Submission required
Like many I have been getting up early.  The sun is spending more time lighting our days, and our sleepy winter weariness is melting in favour of the warming sun and wakefulness. Gratefully I report that I hear the cheerfulness of birds singing their praises to the Lord as they call out to one another.

I spent this morning in Micah, and I am ever so glad I did. I have learned to read and stop, calling out to God in prayer for His people. We have sinned and He is bringing us low, so low that the only direction we can travel once we are good and dusty from our own sorry selfish selves, is up! He is ensuring our humbling, and it is our submission that is required before we are granted a reprieve.

Calamitous environment
What we are witnessing is honour amongst men. God has brought out the very best in humanity within the framework of a calamitous environment. This is what I have longed for, dear reader. Men standing up publicly pronouncing that they are willing to give their lives for the sake of others and their right to choose.

We have always had a right to choose, and mostly, we have chosen wrongly. At this point in time, we get to choose again. How glorious!

What I celebrate today, is the bravery of those that are willing to:

  • Leave the comforts of home
  • Publicly pronounce their intentions
  • Suffer the elements
  • Stay when others leave
  • Sacrifice money and easy living conditions, for the discomfort conviction of conscience is sure to bring
  • Suffer persecution, false accusations, loss of liberty, and the horribleness of being treated like a criminal by wicked men that know not justice
These men represent Christ to me. This is what the world needs to witness. Men acting like men, willing to go to spiritual war in peace, to protect women and children from the predators that seek to devour. They are not like the enemy, they do not look, smell, speak, nor do they behave like the detestable ones. They are a sweet aroma unto the Lord, because they willingly go where few do, and it is their devotion to freedom that reminds me of God's own Son, and Him glorified!

He died to set the captive free. This means you, this means me!

For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him (Jeremiah 30:8)

Jesus will
  • break his yoke : the devil's yoke
  • burst thy bonds : the handcuffs and chains enslaving the captive
  • strangers shall no more serve themselves of him : he, the previously enslaved, will no longer be used as a servant by the wicked
I mentioned above that Jesus came to set the captive free. Free from what, you ask?

Modern day Babylon
Earthly bondage, dear reader! What we see in the truckers, pastors, and citizens that take to the streets courageously, is a willingness to give up creature comforts for a cause so great, so significant, that they are risking it all! The truckers could have kept on trucking but instead, they travelled to modern day Babylon, to Ottawa, where the wicked governors greased each others palms while plotting the demise of an entire populace!

Think on this a moment. Men that spend entire days quietly driving the highways, now sounding the longest horn blast in the history of man beckoning others to join them,  coming out in full force against those that would have them all killed, along with their babies. How extraordinary that God is using these men who previously had no say, and perhaps preferred their own company, to now be seen and heard across the world!

I am celebrating today because if it weren't for all the vileness coming out and being on display, we wouldn't have these marvellous men modelling manhood and righteousness on the streets that lead to our capital. The long line of trucks was the line in the proverbial sand that we all needed as a representation that there are some things that ought not to be messed with, including autonomy. God does not take kindly to His children being oppressed and neither do righteous men.

Sovereign
The prayer is that the Sovereign is magnified in the minds and hearts of men, and that He removes the wicked and replaces them with godly men that love, serve, and honour the LORD and His people.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets (Matthew 22:37-40)

Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind
Love your neighbour as yourself

There is no greater commandment, no law more magnificence, than loving someone so much, you would die for them.

Would you, dear one, give all you have up, for love?
