How Do You Know?

... the power of the Holy Spirit is available only to those whose intention is to carry out His will, a partial quote from Charles Stanley's book entitled, The Wonderful Spirit Filled Life, page 19.

The sentence above packs a wallop. Many a person designates him or herself as a Christian, but have you noticed, dear one, that there seems to be something significantly important missing from them, when they make their declaration? How can one tell? how does one know, when they are in the presence of an actual Christian?

What would be the identifying markers for you?
Do you call yourself a Christian and; are you Holy Spirit filled?

I know several Christians, authenticated by God, as the real deal. They are different from the average bear, and when I speak to them, there is an eagerness to know God, to live for God, to acknowledge him as their God. I heard R. C. Sproul say, We are saved from God, by God. Does this make sense to you? It makes a world of sense to me, because I know I am saved from his wrath for being a wicked person committing crimes against his Majesty in my disobedience and willful ways, and saved forever by him, with my sins no longer lingering and remaining attached to my being, since Jesus died for them all.

It isn't enough to have my sins paid for so that I can be made free; I am required to sin no more, and this one reality of realities, is confirmation for me, that I am Holy Spirit filled: I experience a sickening feeling of self-reproach at the thought of sin, and become utterly repulsed at myself when I do what I know I ought not do. When I grieve the Holy Spirit, my conscious suffers disquiet, and I cannot live in my skin for long without having to go before God, tell on myself, and ask for forgiveness...

How do you know if you are Holy Spirit filled? What telltale signs help you identify yourself this way?

Sin stands as a spiky lethal barrier between us and God. Sin is ruinous, and relationship suffers immensely, when sin is chosen as a way of betraying the God that we are meant to honour and obey. Sin, as I already stated, is chosen, and if you have experienced the loss of having someone you love, dismiss you for things, or ideas, or a wayward way of life, betraying your confidence in them and your trust in them as a friend, companion, or marriage partner, you know how it feels to be cast aside as either unnecessary, unimportant, unworthy, devalued, and easily displaced from their life. NOTE: I think back to all the friends and clients that believed the c-o-v-i-d lies, and how willing they were to disassociate from me, when I did not play the governments-nonsensical and destructive reindeer games. You and I don't take kindly to being kicked out of our rightful place in society, and just imagine how it is for Almighty God, to watch mere humans, assume they can carry on with their bad selfs endlessly, while disregarding him entirely.

So, I ask you, How does one know, if someone else, is an actual Holy Spirit filled Christian? I refer you to the top of this page, and Charles Stanley's statement, reiterated below:

... the power of the Holy Spirit is available only to those whose intention is to carry out His will.

Is it your intention to carry out the will of the Holy Spirit? and; do you know what his will is? You can only answer these questions if you read The Bible. There isn't a multiple choice guess the right answer randomly option for these questions. I suggest to you now, that if you are unsure about your condition as a Holy Spirit filled Christian, you may be committing sins that you are attached to, keeping you from actually living God's will for his people. God's will isn't willy nilly, one way for you, a different way for me; one way for humans that lived thousands of years ago, another way for anyone born and raised from 1970-2026. God is consistently trustworthy in his immutability - he does not change and cannot change, because he is all-in-all, perfect! He didn't get perfect by working at it, he has always been perfect, and always will be perfect, and this state of being, is unattainable for you and I, despite our self-deceived beliefs, that if we try hard enough, we can make all things work out to our own benefit, even sinful things.

A Holy Spirit filled Christian cannot help but declare themselves as Christian, and cannot help but want everyone they meet, everyone they love, everyone they have ever cared deeply for, to know the love of God too. God is our everything, and we do not want to disappoint our Father in heaven. It is always a delight to acknowledge the Creator, for a true Christian.

I don't know what you believe or who you are, unless of course, you share a bit of yourself with me in the comments. I rarely, if ever, get comments, but I know there are many people that want the peace and comfort that comes from having an intimate and sweet relationship with God, and I pray you have what your soul craves most, the filling up with Holiness, that can only come from the Spirit of the One that hand crafted you in your mothers womb.

Drop to your knees and pray if you feel empty and your heart aches. Call out to God, and ask him for help, guidance, forgiveness, and the strength that only he can provide, to carry you through your worries and troubles. You will be astounded how good you will feel, when you surrender your entire life, your being, to the One that loves you so much, he gave his only Son, as a propitiation for your sins. It is never too late, to confess your sins and have your spirit cleansed from iniquity. That is what God does for sinners that repent, and he can do this for you too!

The Holy Spirit filled life isn't a guaranteed easy way down a yellow gold brick path flanked with flowers and butterflies... it is the gentle way, the kind way, the soft touch and firm knowing way of Christ. Christ spoke truth, even when people shouted at him and covered their ears for not wanting to hear him, but he spoke so that people could be saved, and we must too, if we love like our Saviour.

I pray you learn about God from The Bible and from much prayerful listening. I pray you know what it feels like to have God's indwelling Spirit, and to live for the One that died for you. I pray this and much more, but do we really have time for all my prayers, when you have your own to attend to?

Go on now, you have business to take care of:

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26).

You may not know where to start and you may not have the words for your deeply seated sentiments, but God knows what you need, and when the tears of gratitude begin to flow for all he has done for you, you will have started the wonderful process, of living a Holy Spirit filled life.
