Civic Duty

I was subtly accused today, via mail, that I was not doing my civic duty, according to the powers that want to be. I know what my civic duties are, as a law abiding citizen, that works, pays taxes, and pays immediately for everything I purchase, whether it be internet services, crazy expensive gas and food, or a toothbrush and paste at the grocery store. I don't lie, cheat, steal, covet my neighbours donkey, husband, or Lexus, and I certainly don't maim or murder, in fact, my civic duty is satisfied each time I am kind, thoughtful, accountable, and responsible, out in the world, and within the privacy of my own home too. I know God is always watching me, and it is to him, and to him alone, that I owe and pledge my allegiance. Loving my neighbour as myself, is the best form of civic duty I can think of, as one creature residing in close proximity, to many other creatures.

The powers that want to be are intrusive and coercive and the Devil is in the mix, each time someone is hired to harass and harangue citizens, to comply with orders to complete tasks that do not serve anyone, accept of course, the information ravenous monsters, that consume greedily, firstly with their avarice green eyes, then with grasping grabby hands, next with salivating mouths, and finally, devouring everything in sight, in an attempt to fill there bottomless pit stomachs.

I could be insulted and incensed by the instruction, or the demand, Do your civic duty, but I am not, because I consider the source. There is a difference, wouldn't you agree? between a Command, and a demand. God gave us Commandments, and I take these very seriously. God's laws were and are, written in stone, and the criminal code of Canada, echoes Deuteronomy, and Mosaic law. It is truly wonderful to know that God outlined how we humans are to behave in and amongst one another, in order to not only get along, but to understand where the boundaries are, so that we do not cross over where we do not belong. The powers that want to be violate all laws without hesitation; out of putrid hatred for God and his Commands, they make demands they ought not make.

1 Chronicles 21 imparts the account of king David ordering his servant Joab to take a census. David was a popular king, a man of war that fought for his people; he was a man after God's own heart. Dare I say he had an ego issue, when he, without being instructed to do so by God, called for the counting of the people, the citizens he ruled over. He had a vast kingdom, and wanted to know just how great he was as the appointed monarch. But this was wickedness in the eyes of the Lord, and there were devastating consequences attached to David's rash and vain actions, and perhaps, you have had to suffer consequences too, when you did not consult with God, and went ahead with your own personal plans and agenda, only to discover you had made a massive mistake, and erred in judgment? I know I have done this very thing, many a time, and paid the price for my missteps, in countless ways.

In 2020, the world went cv crazy, and it seemed everyone was rushing prematurely and pre-emptively, toward the sharp end of a needle, or two, or three, as a result of a highly propagated pestilence, a virus that supposedly was about to wipe out the population in droves, with an unrelenting and vicious virulence. It was astounding to me to witness how quickly people took to the demands of the powers that want to be, and I do want you to note, that not everyone followed suit, in fact, many of us did our civic duty, honouring God and our fellow man, by remaining stedfast in our stance, that we would not abide the wickedness that was being foisted upon the entire world population. Breaking the law is what evil people do, and the law was not considered a sacred boundary never to be crossed; rather, the opposite occurred, and maiming and murdering with the marauders continuing to roam freely, is what we now see every day, with the powers that want to be, not being held to account... yet.

King David took liberties that were not within his bestowed range. When humans count other humans and start to see them as property, or chattel, they have gone to the dark side, and God does not play nice with those that try to take credit, or ownership, where it is not due. How much information, is too much to ask for? Where and when does my privacy start, and how do I preserve my autonomy?

You can say No to God. It isn't wise to say No to God, but you can do it. You can say No to humans that insist they have the right to interfere in your personal and private life, mere humans that impose themselves, tyrannizing and terrorizing to force a Yes. You can say No to the powers that want to be, and they must leave you, when they see that you belong to the Sovereign, that reigns and rules over all creatures, great and small, human and snail, kangaroo and cotton tail bunnies too.

Regardless of what the enemies of our souls suggest they will do to us when we do not go along with their schemes, God knows our fidelity and faithfulness, and dear one, isn't that all, that really matters?

Evil people say No to God and presume to usurp him, and this is the pinnacle of foolishness. We have all said No to God at one time or another, but dear one, every Yes to his will and his way, draws us closer to him, and God is the safest company you and I will ever experience in this crazy hopped up on steroids and other substances world.

I am a temporary resident in this world, applying for eternal citizenship in heaven, and I long to live God's Commands, while conscientiously and consistently, ignoring the demands, of the powers that want to be.

Jesus is my irreplaceable, all powerful King; I pray he is yours too.
