The Menu

Let's see, what do we have on the menu today?

Breakfast: One order of betrayal, for $500, 000, with a side of distress, upheaval, and a sense of constant anguish, topped with a dusting of insecurity and a smattering of diminished self-worth.

Lunch: A hefty serving of lies with a matching stack of concurrent manipulations, for a quarter slice of soul. With this item, outrageous toppings include, gaslighting, selective and suggestive machinations, with truth twists added for extra punch.

Dinner: Fine dangerous dining begins and ends with this meal of delusion. Smoked mirrors give the impression of a light and friendly supper, but this heavy hitter gets you right in your gastric juice factory, for the nominal price of a chunk of your heart. We line the sides of your plate with upset, confusion, and grate on your nerves pretending, guile, and cunning, and if these don't cause burning, we turn up the heat with deviousness and disingenuousness.

Desert: Dirty, slippery, slimy, freshly unearthed worms

Now, if you want to order from our menu, you must decide that you are perfectly paired with being betrayed, lied to, and treated as though delusion is delightful. We know many have sampled from this menu, and some are repeat customers, but our fare isn't, for everyone. While some that have sampled are repelled by what they have consumed, we have observed that eventually, upon return and reordering, they develop a palate for the flavours. This may be you!

Dear reader, I tongue in cheek came up with a menu that matches what happens, when a man or woman, cheats on their spouse, Couples often stay together in misery when there is a breach of trust, and a breach in lawful matrimony. Separation and divorce are expensive, and heart rending too. There is a limping of the spirit when couples split apart, and it isn't just the finances that suffer when a relationship breaks.

The couples that stay together, without working out their issues, end up living lives of despair, especially when the cheater lies and feigns closeness to their spouse, while attempting to cover their tracks, and pretend nothing is amiss - this heavy blanket of delusion is soul sickening, and can you imagine living your life with a liar that betrays, and thinks you are too stupid to know they are sneaking around with someone else, fornicating as an adulterous spouse? Oh, the yuck of it all.

1. You may be eating from the menu I made-up, but I want you to know, there is always a way out, and if your hands need cleaning, and you are the one that is betraying, lying, and deluding, you can change your ways with God's help. You may have to suffer the consequences of your actions, and these you must accept as righteous judgment for your sins, but you will feel fantastic relief to finally come clean before God and your spouse.

2. You may have snacked unwittingly on this menu, with servings offered from someone you trusted, leaving a bad taste in your mouth while you walk away. Keep walking, don't look back, and refuse to taste the deception others would have you consume.

3. You may be the betrayed partner that is licking their wounds and wondering, How can I possibly change this scenario, and have the life of hope and peace I so crave for me and my family. Dear one, God sees and knows, what you need, and he can provide in wondrous ways, when you take steps in faith, resolutely believing that he is your Provider, Protector, and the loving God over you, and those you hold near and dear.

The Devil enjoys human suffering and encourages betrayal, lies, delusion, and isn't it astounding to acknowledge that Jesus is known as the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that we can choose to deceive and conversely, we can choose to be honest in all our dealings, with our fellow-creatures? The Devil is in the mix when betrayal occurs, and Jesus is the Mediator, when we come to terms with ourselves and others, and learn a better Way, a firm and solid Truth, and live a Life that honours and glorifies, the One that made us.

Breakfast: Feasting on God's Word
Lunch: Praying without ceasing
Dinner: Delighting in God's blessings
Desert: Anticipating our heavenly abode in the presence of our Saviour
