Replica

To be like God, fits us for the enjoyment of God, Matthew Henry, Acts to Revelation, Volume 6, page 584.

God enjoys us, when we are his replicas! This outrageously beautiful concept, lit my heart ablaze with delight and wonder. To think of God enjoying us, goes beyond my previous capacity to comprehend his love for his creatures. I have a heightened awareness of my sinful propensities, and while I frequently pray for continued sanctification, it never once crossed my mind, that as I become holy, as he is holy, I am being fitted for God's enjoyment, and so are you, dear one, when you desire with all your being, to be just like Jesus.

I want my son to be just like Jesus. Yesterday, he tearfully stated, God loves sinners so much. Does this make you weepy too? If God didn't love sinners, we would all be damned, and life would be purposeless and meaningless:

Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 9:3-4
For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: who are Israelites.

The entire Bible is dedicated to the will and work of God Almighty through his son, the Christ. Christians are to walk the walk and talk the talk of their faithful Saviour, and when we do, God is pleased and enjoys us! The apostle Paul wanted so desperately to have his fellow Israelites saved, he was willing to be accursed from Christ, and give up his heavenly home, for their sake: this is so lovely, and speaks of his dedication to the saving of souls, even at his own expense. Can the same be said of you? Are you willing to give up everything for those you love? Can you relinquish control, and love your people into saving grace faith, in Jesus as their Redeemer?

I said above, I want my son to be just like Jesus. There is no greater accomplishment in this life, then to please and praise the living God, and it is Jesus that we are meant to model ourselves after and replicate. Mankind craft images of what they adore, including robots that are meant to be human-like. Remove vulnerability by mechanization, make humanoids out of flesh and titanium, and there too, is the removal of the need to praise and thank God, for blessings and gifts, of grace and mercy.

I did not make my son: I know to whom he belongs and to whom he shall one day return. While he walks the earth, I have no interest in him being like me, except of course, in our obvious and mutual adoration of our Lord and King, Jesus Christ. Some parents want their children to live an imposed legacy, a copy cat existence, of, Do as I say; live as I live. Look around you, dear one, and you will notice, that unfortunately, many a child thinks and behaves, exactly like their parents, and it does not bode well for their sweet little souls.

The Bible is very clear regarding how humanity is to view life and our existence. The Bible does not shy away from declaring God's majesty and glory as Creator. He made you and if you have children, he made them too, along with every mountain, and mountain goat, every blade of grass, and flowering moss, every moose and goose, and monkey too; shall I go on?

Do you feel a sense of awe and thankfulness in knowing how generous he has been to you and yours? Are you at all stunned to silence when you consider your next breath is automatically taken without your thought or effort? Can you comprehend that leaves appear on bare branches that looked like dead sticks, just a few short weeks ago? And what of the birds that live all year round in the outdoors? How do they survive and thrive and reproduce while not complaining about the wind and the rain and the cold or heat? How, indeed, do you and I have our being, and know that we exist?

We do an injustice each time we try to make someone conform to our own image or idea of what a person should be like. When God is our true love, we commend our loved ones, to him. If you have a child and you are concerned for their well-being, believe me when I tell you, that prayer is powerful, because the God of the universe is powerful, and can do all things to redeem and restore, a poor soul that has travelled away from him and is wandering, cut, bruised, and bleeding. Ask God to make the child he entrusted you with, to be just like Jesus, and do not worry about being repetitive, God knows the pain you are in and how desperate you feel, and he will look to you with compassion in your pleading.

Today you can choose to read The Bible and learn about God and pray with all your heart, to be just like Jesus. I hope this appeals to you, dear one. God will give you eyes to see, and ears to hear, and a spirit that discerns. He will bestow gifts that mysteriously fill your mind and heart with unspeakable peace and joy, and do recall Matthew Henry's statement:

To be like God, fits us for the enjoyment of God.

God delights in his own Son, and as adopted children through Christ our Lord, he also delights in us.
