Cirie said what now?

I had to go back and listen again, because my ears may have betrayed my understanding. This is what I heard, If Luke sits next to Christ himself, he's going to win. O no she didn't! That is where my mind went as I hit the go back and listen again button.

Cirie was on her fifth round of Survivor; as a fan favourite she was asked to play what is referred to as the greatest game of all time, over and over again. She took her place on the world tribe, and the show aired in 2025, with Australians pitted against players from other countries, that had also been on the show.

I don't have a problem with players lying, cheating, misrepresenting others, and betraying trust, while they play the game, because this is what they have signed up for and are expected to do, but I do object to the Lord's name used as a curse or in a complaint, or within an expression of exasperation. I watch the show to study group dynamics, individual reactions and interactions, and plus, I have a little envy, I admit, when I watch players navigate the obstacle course challenges that look like way too much irresistible fun! It is vicarious pleasure for me, while watching the cast maneuver their way together or solo, through adult playground equipment... but I digress.

Cirie was working on trying to get someone on her side. Cirie wanted an Australian to betray a fellow-patriot, in favour of keeping her in the game, and she used a you will lose tactic that is common, but she upped the anti to an unacceptable level, when she suggested that if Luke, a player that was still surviving in the game, sat next to Jesus himself, he would win.. Let us be clear, this means Jesus, would LOSE.

Lose, imagine that, Jesus playing the game of Survivor with mere humans, and losing to a guy or gal, because said guy or gal had played an outstanding game. Hmmm, the devil you say? Cirie, spoke words that made her sound like a heathen without a clue about God's almighty power. The God of glory, being compared to a mere human in the first place is alarming, but for her to attempt to manipulate another player to get that player to feel pressured, paranoid, and compelled to align with Cirie, by suggesting Jesus would lose when sitting next to ANYONE, is dastardly to say the least.

It occurs to me that when someone speaks as Cirie has, they have not attempted to grasp the magnitude of the meaning of eternal life. The grappling that takes place in the mind, heart, and soul, when contemplating foreverness, is thought bending, and can be torturous too, if God does not figure prominently in the picture. Jesus isn't a survivor like you and I, he is Saviour, and there simply cannot be, this strange interjecting of him into everyday modern entertainment, as though he were a commoner comparable to supposedly great characters in the game of life. The silliness factor is heaven high, and the ignorance factor is hellishly low, when this occurs.

Cirie isn't the only guilty party on Survivor. Using the name of Jesus accompanied by Christ, is bandied about like a light and airy badminton birdie, or swirled on the tongue like a Werther's original caramel that has no substance or significance.  Intermingling the name of Christ nonsensically with other words in a sentence, and in a vulgar manner, is an everyday practice for millions of people, and I point out, that they know not what they do, because they know not, as of yet, what God has said about taking his name in vain: alternatively, they have learned that taking God's name in vain is a commandment broken, but choose to do this anyway. How shameful.

It isn't right, you know, to curse God. It isn't right, dear one, to curse another creature. It isn't right, and we must not do this, ever. The ancient Israelites made the mistake of believing they would never have to pay for cursing the Ancient of days, but history tells the story of God's wrath against those that dare to disobey, and my prayer is that the name of Jesus is honey, not hate on your lips, and that you duly give him praise and glory as your Saviour, your King, your Mediator and God.

We must think and think again, hearing our thoughts before allowing words to usher forth from our mouths. Omniscient God hears before we speak, and it is wise to confess sins, on bent knee, and plead for forgiveness.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise (Psalm 51:17).

NOTE: Australia vs World, season 13, episode 19:

Cirie: If Luke sits next to Christ himself, he's going to win.
