Not Currently Dead

If you have never been dead before, then you just don't know what dead is like. As a formerly not dead person, and a currently not dead person, I haven't a clue what to look forward to, or dread, when my shell has taken its last life beating, and drops dead, without my permission, leaving my spirit homeless.

  • Homeless, does my spirit wander, visiting the last place I was housed in my body?
  • Homeless, does my soul long for what was, the Egypt where there was garlic and fish, sex, and rock and roll?
  • Homeless, do I visit my dead relatives, gently tap some on the shoulder, and knock-out punch others, in the jaw?
  • Homeless, do I have a temper tantrum, because I can recall how my favourite food smells and tastes, but dang it, my see through ghostly hands, cannot grasp; my nose, lips, and tongue cannot hold scent or substance, and I am mad mad mad about it?!
  • Homeless, do I wish I had done things differently, worked more, worked less, said I am sorry or perhaps, really laid into that bastard at work, that was always talk talk talking, never doing a damn thing, and then taking credit behind my back, for my project ideas?
I have never been dead, so I have not a clue, but I have heard all dogs and people go to heaven, where ever that is? Heaven is supposed to be a really nice place from the sounds of it, and there are some that say, If you are suffering here in your body, or even in your mind, you will go to a better place when you die. So... if I choose to dismantle and separate this body and the spirit thingy that lives within, I am going to RIP and have joy joy joy, down in my heart, is that how it is going to be? I don't know, it sounds like hooey, and nonsensical. I am the type that kinda believes this is it, dirt to dirt, ya know? The body croaks, and starts to rot in minutes flat, and then get stinky: we are worm meat in no time!

I know MAID is an option. A MAID can come to my home and fill me up with stuff that slows me down, immobilizing my body, so I cannot panic and actually move, and then the lethal dose does the trick! After that, I will be off in the never-never-lands of restless wandering souls, or maybe I will end up in fields filled with forget-me-nots, where deer and lion frolic and play together! Seems pretty final to me, and it is nice to have choices when it comes to death. MAID may be neater and cleaner than suffering and dying, and death sounds like a pleasant experience, at least, that is how I am hearing it these days.

I am not currently dead, and neither is anyone I currently know. I guess the people that talk about after-death, and what it will be like, probably did more reading about it then me, and know some people that have died and came back to tell them about it. I have seen videos about this very thing on youtube. Who am I, to tell other people they are wrong, or don't know? I think that questioning their beliefs borders on being judgmental, and since I don't want to be judged for what I think, I refuse to do that sort of thing to anyone else. Their truth is their truth, ya know?

I have seen that there is a chance that life continues somehow when we don't have our bodies. People wish other people Happy Heavenly Birthday, and dogs cross over a rainbow bridge to get to heaven! Can you imagine the tail wagging, when pups are finally reunited with their human parents, after their parents become the dearly departed too?

I suppose the sentimental and romantic side of me may take over as I age. I really want to see things as they are, and perhaps, the softer sweeter part of me will take over in my spirit thingy, and I can start to believe. how delightful life will be, once I am, well, ya know, dead.

If you have never been dead, then you may be just like me - I try not to think about it too too much, because why bother? So many people are croaking all around me lately, so I have given it a little more thought then usual, but I am not going to let the idea of dying, or what possibly happens to me afterward, get in my way of living. I want to have fun, eat, drink, and have a good time, because as the song lyrics go, I'm here for a good time, not a long time, so have a good time, the sun don't shine everyday!

O, one more thing: I kind of like the idea that I am energy and will reabsorb and get recycled by the universe. Now that makes sense, and I am kinda leaning toward being okay with this, if it actually is what happens. I mean, I see how seeds grow into plants, then they seem to die, and then voila, next season, they reappear in the same place, as the same plants! I like this very much, so I am not too concerned about coming back and being me again. This may be the happy note I needed to hit, in order to close out this little convo with you.

Ciao for now, see you on the flip side, or not? Who really knows...
