You Want It - Pay

O, how I like what I have heard!

Cash, in the currency of life, is king, and this is the subject of our conversation today.

While some companies, for example, Dave's Hot Chicken, have decided that cash is not acceptable at the till, despite money being legal tender, other companies prefer cash payment from customers. Think with me now. The banks that issue credit cards, love the interest they soak card holders for, when the card holder does not pay their monthly balance in full. Retailers that want you to use credit, have to absorb the cost of fees attached, each time you ring in your order and pay with plastic... or do they? Listen to me now: the customer, the patron, the guy or gal doing the buying, always has to pay for the extras, because the add on fees, get added onto the cost of the products, blended in as it were, and don't you know this to be true, dear one, with the constantly rising costs of every little thing?

Who is making all the money without lifting a finger, earning a cent, or paying an exorbitant amount of cash for watermelons and steaks? My answer, and perhaps I heard your similar response to this question, is the credit card issuers and bankers. These clever fellas are benefiting in buckets of filthy lucre via usury; they figured out long ago, how to pick-pocket unsuspecting marks that want now, what they cannot afford. Eventually, what should have been paid for with cash, is paid for in a low, and in some cases a high grade, of feverish anxiety, that shadow boxes the indebted, throughout their waking hours, and haunts them into their sleepless nights. Owing money, and for many, enormous amounts of money, can cause stress induced headaches, bouts of irritation and self-recrimination, interrupt thoughts making a person ineffective at work, and worse yet, destroy communication with a spouse, along with negatively impacting interactions with playful children that are just too rambunctious for the overwhelmed person, that feels crushed under the burden of constant, unremitting debt.

Since bankruptcy and things like consumer proposals are available to the debt laden, there is in the back of many minds, an out, that grants them a reprieve from repaying, for all they have wantonly purchased. I will state this and then we will move on: The Bible makes clear, Thou shalt not steal. If you buy what you cannot afford, pay interest on said item or items, and never really reach the bottom of the pit of debt you have dug for yourself, then you are a thief, taking what is not yours, because you simply could not, can not, afford the item. This puts you in a pickle of a problem, and does it make sense, to be anxious when you owe, considering the price your conscience, your soul pays, for having in your possession, what does not belong to you outright?

Think now with me, about people putting on their credit cards, fast food purchases, and the interest they pay for their food, over and over again, and how so many people are getting bigger, while their ability to accumulate a safety net of funds, diminishes each day they do not pay, for what they have consumed. Does this cycle sound and look familiar to you, either in your own life, or the life of people you know? Money is such a touchy subject for most people, but it is because they aren't good with the money they have, meaning, they are not conscientious when they consider the when, where, and how, of spending, saving, tithing. People that have a grasp of how money works effectively, are usually very happy to share their wisdom with anyone that wants to learn the ways of wealth accumulation and management. This said, I want to share with you now, the reason for this piece of writing today.

There is a new trend that I am thrilled to see coming into play, and it is small business owners that have initiated an old fashioned way of doing business! As an entrepreneur. I never fell into the trap of offering clients the option of paying for services via credit card, and I have always received payment in cash, cheque, or e-transfer format, with no fees attached for my clients, or for me, which means the greedy paws of the middle-men, do not touch what is not theirs. I went to a restaurant years ago and when the bill came, the waitress told my friend and me that there was a 10% discount if we paid cash! I loved this so much, and now I am hearing that small business owners are telling patrons that they, the customer, will be charged the credit card fee if they pay with plastic... YAY, it is about time, dear one. Why should an entrepreneur, have to absorb the cost of fees, and in turn hike up their prices, in order to accommodate banks, and clients or customers, that may or may not, be payment problems? In other words, when people purchase via credit, never pay off their debt, then declare bankruptcy, or are permitted to pay less then what they owe, we all have to pay more for what we buy. Someone has to pay for the losses, and it is always the customer that takes the hit, no matter what marketers are pushing when they advertise that they price match, or have the lowest prices in town.

If you want something, you ought to feel obligated to pay for it. Does this sound strange to you? The you want it, you got it mentality, is wrong, wrong, wrong. You cannot have everything you want, in fact some of the things you want, may be the very worst things for you to have, and who among us does not have buyers remorse and purchase regret, for some of the small, and rather large expenditures, that have cost us some angst.

Dave's Hot Chicken is some of the best fast food I have ever eaten. I was surprised and disappointed when after I ordered food, I was told they do not take cash for payment. This ought to be illegal, and yet, those of us in the know, understand the push to eliminate legal tender from the hands of people that have earned their money. Cash is purchasing power, and the wanna-be-powers-that-be, do not want you and I to have the ability to make our own decisions with our own money. This said, it is the mark of the beast that they want you and I to agree to, in the form of a chip placed under the skin in our hands or foreheads, so we can barcode pay for our lives while being scanned, processed, counted, corralled, and controlled cattle like, by handlers that want to treat us like their chattel.

If this sounds dramatic and a little too dystopian to you, then you are already behind the curve, and need to do some current events catching up.

Cash is king when it comes to purchasing power, and the more we believe this and live according to rules of buying what we can afford and saying no to instant gratification that we can never fully pay for, the better off we will be as a society. One last thing: if you make a lot of money, and got the cv shot because your job was threatened, and because you knew you would not be able to sustain the lifestyle you had plastic purchased for yourself and your family prior to the planned panic of all things cv, then you are in a precarious position moving forward dear one. You must decide that your autonomy, your ability to make your own financial decisions, is separate from what your bank, your employer, and the government, wants you to do.

Pay for your life, dear one, or you will pay with it, when push comes to shove and your resistance is too low for you to fight back.

NOTE: The Bible is full of wealth wisdom. Go there for a most excellent education.
