I have learned from certain people what persistence, what perseverance, looks like - they are the never give up people, that keep trying until they meet impossible, at which point, they are able to say, I did all I could, without complaining, I did all I could do to make this work, to make things right.
I owe a debt of gratitude to these people, who shall for many reasons, remain nameless. I will thank them personally, and praise them here publicly, without stating who they are ...
I don't know if the path of least resistance is the one you travel, dear reader. I have no clue, if you were taught to stay the course, or give up when the going gets tough. I know what easy looks like, I know what tenacity acts like, I also know that it takes a shrug of the shoulders decision to give up, and a different sort of set your sights on the end goal decision to keep going, even when it seems there are monsters and fire breathing dragons hidden around the corner or ready to jump from behind a thickly leaved bush.
The persistent and persevering, the tenacious people I appreciate, respect and love, have modelled for me a most excellent way. There are people, and than there are people, and I am elated to know some of the most consistently, persistently, admirable, sort of people, that morally, ethically, can be counted on to do rightly to their fellow human beings, by living-up to gold star godly standards.
Perseverance pays off, dear reader, when each person is accountable for what they say they will do, and when they follow through on their stated obligations. The give and take is magnificent, when we humans decide that a mutually beneficial agreement, is soul satisfying for all parties concerned.
A word of encouragement
You may want to give up in whatever situation you find yourself, but now might be the time that requires your dedicated perseverance. Do all you can, and when you meet impossible, and impossible is insurmountable, be proud of yourself while confidently stating, I did all I could, and now I leave the rest to God.
Do not mistake the message I convey. Always start in prayer, asking for God's guidance. If you are in the right, God will be your strength, and you can pray for courage. Then, do what you must to rectify what needs fixing; after this, you can rest in the knowledge that you truly, did all that you could. Pray for the other side too, dear reader ... God hears your prayers, sees your contrite and tender heart, and he is our rain maker, blessing us when it appears we have no where to go with what is troublesome.
Joshua 1:9
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest.
Hebrews 12:1-2
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God
