Have you noticed, dear reader, people wishing dead friends and relatives, a Happy Heavenly Birthday? Have you read too, about wishful rainbow bridges that deceased pets cross, to get to heavenly pastures?
What an oddity these trends are; why, one might think some of these people that post such things on social media, may not have, I don't know, read The Bible? They mention heaven, and rainbows, but it would appear, despite these references, that they have no clue about heaven or rainbows. While we are on the subject, many a secular new age type human, is now apparently comfortable using the words blessed, and amen.
I recall being chastised for using the word bless in a signature sign-off at the end of an email I had written to a board of directors I chaired. The man that read me the riot act for using a religious word (he knew me as a professing Christian) that he deemed inappropriate in a professional email, is the very same homosexual man that used this word similarly in an email, not long afterward, when addressing the same board of directors. Is it any wonder people do not understand faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour? Does it not make perfect sense, that words of significance, when used with a cavalier and nonchalant attitude, become common, and lose their power and meaning? The man was a pleasant fellow, very committed to fairness, unequally distributed of course. It was unfair of me to impose my faith, but perfectly acceptable for him to appropriate words that did not belong in his mouth as a flagrant, proud, and blatant sinner.
There is no such thing as a heavenly birthday, dear reader. It is the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus, Messiah, Christ, that is to be celebrated for eternity: if by God's grace you and I make it to heaven, he will be the only one that we focus on, and with joyful and delighted hearts at that! Pets don't have souls, despite how wonderful they are, and how connected to humans they can be; they do not cross a colourful rainbow bridge, to frolic through fields of daisies and meadows green. The rainbow is symbolic of God's promise, to never destroy wicked humanity with a flood, ever again: the unrepentant, vile, and evil ones among us, will be consumed from the face of the earth, but it with be by fire. This is a prophetic promise that we can set our forever watches to:
Revelation 21:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Humanity has a tendency to compromise God's standards by speaking on his behalf, to accommodate their own inclination to sweeten the pot they like to dig into for honey. A person dies, and it is common practice to say things along the lines of: They are in a better place; at least they are no longer suffering and; RIP. A pet dies, and the grieving owner has fantasies of a furry reunion when they too, make it to heaven. Not all people and pets go to heaven ... wait wait ... no pets go to heaven, and the majority of people, will not be granted entrance, because the only way in, is through Christ the Lord. Oh, and then there is this reality that few acknowledge or want to read or hear about: hell ... lots and lots of souls will be sent to hell forever and ever:
Matthew 13:40-42
As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Do note, in other words, take notice of this mighty important point:
The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity
The Son of man, dear reader, in case you are unaware, is Jesus Christ. He came to redeem humanity from destruction and death, and the repentant feel the pleasure of freedom in Christ the King; but for those that offend, and do iniquity, he will judge and damn. No heavenly birthdays or resting in peace in the future for those that deny Jesus as Lord of lords, King of kings, the Alpha and Omega, world without end. Hear the wailing, and the gnashing of teeth in your mind as unrepentant sinners suffer for offending God, and for their secretive and obvious, iniquity. This isn't the Jesus that people want to know; most people prefer manufactured in the mind California wavy haired surfer dude Jesus.
Revelation 19:12-15
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
The red hot lava of excuses made for sinners by well meaning, misguided individuals, will eventually coat and cover them, petrifying them in fiery graves. God is Holy, he isn't a high roller that gambles with peoples lives, giving them multiple options and highways to heaven. There is a Way, and it is known as The Way, and Jesus is inseparable from salvation and from heaven. You cannot have heaven as your eternal home, if Jesus isn't your eternal Master.
The Bible lists who will not be in heaven, and does this not make perfect sense for a Sovereign, to barricade the entrance gates to his kingdom, to those that lived in utter rebellion against him, denying his only begotten Son, when given the opportunity to live life on earth? Rather than glorifying God in gratitude, we have people like this:
Fearful, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters, liars, all of them.
Consider with me the fearful and unbelieving. When someone lives in fear, it is because they do not trust God, and this is directly linked to being an unbelieving person. If there is anything I have learned over the span of my lifetime, it is that I know of a certainty, that God goes before me, and that his providential care has been my mainstay, my solid ground. To live in fear and unbelief, makes a person vulnerable, and susceptible too, to circumstances and influences, that are treacherous and treasonous to the soul. Trusting in God for my life, my provisions, and the care of the people I love, is a solace that is indescribable, and it is reading God's word that gives me the confidence, to put all my confidence, in him.
I have had two dogs in my life and home that I loved, and when they died, I grieved heavily; man alive, I would love to be greeted by both of them in heaven. My father died in 2000, and my sister died in 2024. I am not sure if they are in heaven, but well-wishers have indicated they are; well-wishers that have not read scripture. God determines where we spend eternity, depending on Who we believe and love in the one life he provides each of us:
Mark 12:30
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks, is what Jesus spoke to Paul on the road to Damascus. I don't want to resist God, his Word, his will, in favour of my own fantasies and soft sell ideas about reality. The Lord isn't cruel, he is Truth, and when we believe what he has to say, our souls are set to singing his praises all the live long day, right into eternity with him, in the New Jerusalem, otherwise known, as heaven.
Read The Bible, dear reader, and you will learn to read the signs of the times, while dispelling and nullifying lies propagated and designed, to through you off course, and away from Christ.
Recalibrate to Christ.
