Magnify Your Mission

Precognition
I like this word, how about you dear reader? It has a supernatural feel and as we go into this piece of writing, it adds a sensational sentiment of anticipation to think about its meaning: to know something in advance, have foreknowledge of an event. Do you have this gift?

I will start at the end
Where to start:  I will start at the end of one relationship and begin with the next, all with this running in the background precognition super sense that had me doing and saying things that set me up for the life I am currently savouring. Let's go in

2017 my husband leaves the family
2019 we divorce
The End

2017 "But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD" (Joshua 24:15).
2020 We serve the Lord
The beginning of living life completely and utterly dependant on our God

A nail in my marriage coffin
Here are some of the words I spoke, each one a nail in my marriage coffin: "I love Jesus more than anyone and anything." From this point on, it was only a matter of time before he walked out: a line had been drawn and I had finally crossed it, one too many times; the damage was irreparably done. The dividing line exists and the crowds have parted into two distinct and separate groups and we can all see it now, isn't that right dear one?

Back to precognition
I have new front doors. Where there was once one blind door, there are now two with let-in-bright-light glass inserts. I have new front steps. Where there were two narrow steps, there are now three broad inviting steps. Enter my front hallway and the overhead light is a massive ball of paper daisies that decorate the walls by casting dancing floral shadows. My front room has selected art and gorgeous furniture that hold meaning, and wherever my eyes travel, I see what man has imagined and captured, crafting it with love so others can be moved. My office and gym, my lower floor visiting room, are elegant and tasteful: there isn't a thing in these spaces that has not been chosen, by me, to take up residence.

Glorify God
I share all of this, because prior to my husband leaving, I had an inexplicable urge to make things new, and to my unhindered liking. Little did I know that God was preparing me, for the end of my marriage and the beginning of my real life, one of service to the God that created me specifically and with purpose. I am here to glorify God dear one, that is a wonderful purpose, wouldn't you agree?

Prophetic
My writing, the pieces I poured into while I was married and on the verge of in-life-we-do-part, was prophetic and served me well when I looked back. Younger me was informing future me of what was to be and it continues dear one, because I have precognition: this knowing is becoming a finely tuned fork, that resonates truth with warnings attached. This is no magic trick or special ability, it comes to me as a gift for my faithfulness in reading Scripture, listening to Gods voice, and wanting, almost desperately at times, for others to listen to him too. I say desperately, because to know God and live for Jesus is life, and to know this and also know that people live without him, is a harrowing feeling. They do not know what and whom they are rejecting, or walking away from...

But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD (Joshua 24:15)

Trusted truth tellers
Let in the Light
My home is a sanctuary. Those that enter in are invited, to study Scripture, to praise God, to worship him in song and with the fullness of their voices. We listen to preaching and we speak about serving and we are trusted truth tellers, counted on to speak what many are fearful of speaking, because they may be rejected and ostracized by a world that does not know the Saviour or want to. We serve the Lord, just as the household of Joshua did, and we are not ashamed to glorify our Father in heaven.

Magnify your mission
Believing in God and Jesus as Saviour are not really options: there is a walking away from the triune God or walking toward. One is an ending, the other a beginning. Who you travel with along the way will either thwart you, or magnify your mission. Sometimes, when a person leaves our life, it is because God has removed them so that we can be unfiltered and unfettered, to serve him wholly (or holy, dear one).

Precognition provider
The third party of the trinity is the Holy Ghost, my ever present discernment or precognition provider. He can be your travel companion too. Jesus is your double-door-brilliant-light entry point.

Knock, and the door will be opened to you: Jesus is on the other side.
